In convoy QS-33 on a voyage from Three Rivers for the UK with a cargo of 1824 standards of lumber, 1490 tons of steel & a crew of 31 Aeas was torpedoed by German submarine (U-165 Ebarhard Hoffmann) & sank in the St Lawrence River on 6 September 1942. HMS Arrowhead picked up 29 survivors. Two lives were lost.
