WEST HARTLEPOOL STEAMER IN COLLISION. THE WINSTON SERIOUSLY DAMAGED. Lloyd's agency reports that the steamers Winston, of West Hartlepool, from Libau, with oats, and the Newburn, of London, for Shields, ballast, collided last night off Thameshaven. The Newburn was struck amidships on the starboard side, and was run ashore to prevent sinking. The Winston had bows damaged, and was afterwards in collision with the tank steamer Kura, from Batoum. The Winston was struck on the starboard side, and was also run ashore. The Kura remains anchored off Thameshaven, extent of damage unknown. The Winston is owned by R. Jobson and Co., of West Hartlepool.
