What we know about this image :
In April 1962, the plan for the Fens Shopping Centre were featured in The Northern Daily Mail. They were planned by Yuill's and were built some time later. The plans were pretty much carried out with shops, a car park and a pub to the left.
The gardens and rather Alpine view behind the shops is somewhat fanciful!
