This ship was a general cargo ship built in 1953 and owned by the Stag Line of Newcastle. She is berthed at the Wood Quay in Victoria Dock. The mooring buoys were used by the collier ships at the coal staithes when they were being loaded with coal.
It looks to be the Headland Railway Station and library to the left.

Victoria Dock at Hartlepool was opened in December 1840. The brig Thomas Rowell was the first ship to enter and load in the new dock. The amount of tonnage shipped in this year was almost double that handled in Hartlepool the previous year. By 1851 the dock had sixteen coal drops and three steam operated ballast cranes.
