The 1900 trade directory lists Newton's Shaving Rooms in Northgate and Arch Street. The 'Central' Shaving Rooms were most likely in Arch Street on Central Estate.
On the reverse of the photo it says Tom Newton was born in 1878 and the photo was taken before his 1909 marriage. The shop was opened in 1895.
