R. Stobbs & Son, Confectioners and Wholesalers.
This pub was apparently also known as The Garabaldi and was on the corner of Lynn Street and Garibaldi Street. This is prior to demolition, the pub actually closing in 1964. What remains of Crossley Street is the tarmac in the foreground and Garibaldi Street was on the line made by the fenceposts behind the weeds. Lynn Street would run left to right in front of the pub and, across further scrubland where houses have been demolished ,are the engine sheds in Mainsforth Terrace. In the centre of the picture, the BP sign was a petrol garage which is now probably a fishing tackle shop on Mainsforth Terrace.
A Stobbs' Confectionery van can be seen behind the pub.
