Hartlepool Gas and Water Co., Middleton Road.
Taken in the 1930s, this image shows an exhibition of domestic applances in the Town Hall. On the right heat proof gas globes are on display and arange of gas water geysers on both stands. In the centre the display are the words ' switch on gaslight ' but this was probably very much towards the end of the life of new gaslighting.
The display on the left advertises bathroom fittings by John Pounder Ltd Stockton Street.

The image is possibly from the 1930s or 40s.
The items on display seem to be water heating geysers and the desk was where accounts were paid, the notice indicating 9-5pm weekdays and 9-12pm presumably Wednesday or Saturday.
