Miscellaneous: 12 October 1862 Thomas Harwick, seaman, fell from the yard to the deck & was killed. He was buried at sea; December 1873 Thomas Darcey, seaman, stabbed William Williams the chief officer of the Tythonus.

Voyages: 1873 sailed for India; January 1882 London to Auckland; 11 October 1882 left London with 103 passengers arrived Auckland 3 February 1883; 18 September 1900 from Cardiff for Coquimbo.

Bound from Fleetwood for Valparaiso the Tythonus was abandoned on fire 120 miles from Montevideo in October 1901. The barque James H Hanlen picked up the crew.
