The image shows PT lesson or drill in the High School Hall which was little changed until demolished. The hall had classrooms of it and a balcony around three sides with further classrooms which were science labs.
The double doors by 1957 led to a wing containing a large gym, library and admin area.
THe photo was taken not long after the school opened in 1912.

West Hartlepool High School for GirlsWest Hartlepool High School for Girls, Eldon Grove, Hartlepool, opened in 1912.
Prior to this, there was a grammar school department for boys and girls in the Technical School in Lauder Street. When Hartlepool schools adopted the comprehensive system in 1973, the High School buildings were used as part of Brinkburn Comprehensive School. In the late 1980s, the building was demolished and Eldon Grove Academy (a primary school) opened on the site in 1989.
