William Rayner Collin was born at Auckland, Co. Durham, in September, 1897, to parents James (born 1862), and Elizabeth Collin (born 1860).
In 1919 Wliiam married Lily Sanderson, and they had at least three children; Elizabeth J. (born 1926), Doreen (1929), and Joseph (1937). Their last known address was in West View.
