In convoy SC-118 on a voyage from Botswood for St Johns, Newfoundland & the Mersey with a general cargo & a crew of 29 Parthenon was torpedoed by German submarine (U-522 Herbert Schneider) & sank in 53.30N/42.15W on 2 November 1942. 6 lives were lost.
