Bound from Archangel for the Clyde & Nice with a cargo of wheat Whitefield was sunk by gunfire from German submarine (U-33 Konrad Gansser) 95 miles N by W of Cape Wrath in 60.00N/6.40W on 1 September 1915. No lives lost.
