Belfast News-Letter, Saturday, November 12th, 1904:
WEST HARTLEPOOL STEAMER WRECKED. The crew of the West Hartlepool steamer Tenby arrived at Plymouth yesterday from the East lndies. The Tenby ran ashore on a reef to the southward of Padang whilst on a voyage from Cheridon to Port Said with sugar. For three weeks the crew remained by their vessel, but then during a fierce storm she became seriously damaged, and had to abandoned. Then the crew were sent Batavia, and thence home to England.
Founded in 1874 by Robert Ropner, the company owned, managed & built ships.
