On a voyage from London for Adelaide, Melbourne & Sydney Gulf of Finland left Suez on 12 October 1882 & went ashore at Jebel Zukur, an island near Aden on 18 October 1882. Attempts were made to lighten her load & get her off but she became a wreck.
