All the brothers, James, Charles, William & the eldest, Harry JOLLY born 22 Dec. 1878 West Hartlepool, Ser. No. 52303 Pte., D.L.I. (no image) survived the war and were demobbed.

These images are from two albums which are part of a unique record of young men and women who were members of the Oxford Road Baptist Church, West Hartlepool and enlisted in the First World War. Some of the photos and postcards note; Name, Rank, Service No., Regiment and the dates letters and parcels were sent to them. The originator of this collection was a Mr. Fred Marsden a member of the Church and also a Postman. 'Fred's little book' as it is referred to contains 177 separate entries.
