Cornelia was born in Denmark and was the first wife of Fritz Herskind. They married in 1858 in Aarhus Denmark and soon after the marriage moved to Hartlepool. Cornelia died in Hartlepool in October 1858 not long after her only child Signe Marie Herskind was born.
