Lord Clyde (Central Estate)Lord Clyde public house, West View Rd/Cleveland Road, Hartlepool was opened in 1861 and was closed in 1972. The last recorded landlord and landlady were Norman and Rose Guffick.
In July 1958, following a petition it was agreed that it could open Monday and Friday at 5 p.m. and Wednesday Thursday at 5.30 p.m. rather than the usual 6- 10 pm. hours in order to ' settle the dust of a day's labour' .
It was finally demolished in 1995.
