This is an advert from 1952 for Sappers Corner garage which was where the A689 from Hartlepool turned sharp left into Greatham before the Greatham by pass was built. It was a very busy garage being the last on the way out of town.
The garage had previously been a depot for Blumer' buses and is now Up North Combine premises where lorries which transport pigeons are stored.
