Hartlepool Museum Services hold this oil painting taken from a lithograph by Ellen Pearson in 1850. Looking north most of the houses still survive. Bathing machines can be seen on the beach. This artist was from Greatham but not much is known about her. She is credited with having painted a portrait of Ralph Ward Jackson.
