A man and a dog outside Elwick Hall.
Message on reverse reads: "I had a letter from your father this morning in answer to my PC of Monday. Addie and he were disappointed over the airmen, they having risen early on Monday morning with a view to seeing them."This is thought to refer to the airmen landing at Seaton Carew in 1914.
The father was probably Edward Sample as he had a daughter Adeline, the Addie in the letter.
