Fate

The sailing ship Turkish Empire ran aground on Big Duck Island, Grand Menan, off the north-east coast of Maine, during a storm on March 6th, 1879. Seven of the crew and the Pilot, Mr. Cline, were rescued, however, Captain West and six of the crew were lost. The ship was on a voyage from St. John to Dublin with a cargo of deals and ends, and quickly went to pieces.
