Funeral Directors in Hartlepool. In 1879, John Mason founded a joiners and undertaker business in Musgrave Street and later moved to Park Road. By 1928 the company had a large number of horse drawn hearses , stabling for 14 horses and a large fleet of taxis at their Park Road premises.
The business still operates successfully today in Park Road.

Donated by Hartlepool Library ServiceTaken in 1928, Mason's Funeral Home in Park Road is still at the same premises on the corner of Park Road and Osborne Road. The buildings at the side in Osborne Road have been rebuilt and the frontage is modernised. Note the petrol pump in front of the building.
