G.W. Carter's delivery lorry outside their hardware supplies premises in Burn Road. Most of Burn Road is beyond the Belle Vue Way roundabout now but this short area remains near Stockton Road. The image is probably from the late 1950s.
This shop and G.Waugh on the far right are where the car park of Frank's Factory Flooring is now. The next two shops with the attic windows are what are now Curls Aloud hairdressing and Sorella Fashions. Beyond them is the right turn into Vicarage Gardens. The building facing the camera to the left of the lorry is no longer there but was the Lion Social Club belonging to Cameron's. It was rebuilt in the late 1960s, became Cameron's Sports and Social Club and is now a snooker centre.
