More detail »Stephen Goodwin Snr with his wife, Mary. This is their wedding photograph. They were married at the Weslyan Chapel, Northgate, on 20th May 1907. Stephen, who was born in Scarborough, started his career as a fisherman, like his father before him. By the time he retired he was Chief Engineer for Graham's Fish Company in Hartlepool. Mary Hannah (ne White) came from mining stock and for a time was housekeeper for Mr Garbutt, the butcher on the Headland. Mary and Stephen had four living children; Elsie, Stephen Jnr, John George and Eric.
