All Saints National School, Stranton

Details about All Saints National School, Stranton

This school opened in 1862. Ralph Ward Jackson had built Church Square School which was intended to be the church school of Christ Church. Because Jackson and the vicar very publically 'fell out', church authorities built a comparable school in Stranton between Burn Road and Stranton Church in 1862. In 1873 there were 375 scholars.
