On a voyage from Hartlepool for Boston with a cargo of pig-iron Fernville struck an iceberg in 46.00N/38.30W & sank on 27 March 1880. The crew were picked up by the French barque Alliance & landed at St Pierre, Miquelon. Master Booth.
