On a voyage from Swansea for Coquimbo with a cargo of 965 tons of coal & bricks & a crew of 16 she was abandoned & foundered in a Force 11 WNW gale in the South Pacific on 7 November 1879. A Naval Court put the loss down to stress of weather. Master John Bowen.
