Torpedoed and sunk by U-175 (Heinrich Bruns), off Venezuela, on October 1st, 1942. The ship was on a voyage from Demerara to Trinidad with a cargo of bauxite.
Four of the crew of forty were lost, including two from West Hartlepool - the Master, Alfred Ernest Wright, and Thomas Cooper, Chief Engineer.
