Owners: 1937 Ellerman Lines Ltd (Ellerman & Papayanni Lines Ltd, Liverpool) London: August 1940 requisitioned by MOWT-renamed HMS Malvernian

On a voyage from Hull for Gibraltar with a total complement of 164 HMS Malvernian was bombed by German aircraft Focke-Wulf Condor & caught fire in the Bay of Biscay off the coast of Spain on 1 July 1941 & sank on 19 July 1941. 24 hands were lost. Two boats made it to land. Other survivors were captured by German minesweepers.
