In Convoy OG-56 Horda sailed from Liverpool on 17 March 1941 with a total crew of 30. As the convoy was on a voyage for Gibralter & Horda for Halifax she dispersed on 20 March & was torpedoed by German submarine U-97 (Udo Heilmann) & sank 1000 miles west of Bishop Rock in 49.00N/23.00W on 24 March 1941. All 30 lives lost.
