On a voyage from Manila via Japan for Portland Oregon Selja was sailing from Yokohama to San Francisco with a cargo of general Chinese goods when she sank after a collision in thick fog with the American steamer Beaver off Point Reyes outside the San Francisco Bay on 22 November 1910. Master Olaf Lie. Both masters were found culpable. 2 lives were lost.
