Fate

The French steamship Pomone was torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine UC-79 (Werner Lowe) off Gijon, Spain, on November 24th, 1917. The ship was on a voyage from Lisbon to Brest with a cargo of phosphates and wine. No lives were lost. Master Lelievre.
