On a voyage from Odessa for Hamburg with a cargo of corn & a crew of 23 Greystoke was wrecked on Gross Vogelsand near Cuxhaven, South Elbe, Germany about 28 November 1892. The wreck was seen by a passing vessel on 29 November lying on the sand with her deck covered by water. Three frozen bodies washed ashore at the mouth of the Eider on 2 December & a search was made for others. All 23 lives lost.
