Fate

On a voyage from London to Australia, the Sepia was wrecked on the Challenger Rock, 1.5 miles south-west of Carnac Island, off Perth, Western Australia on December 29th, 1898. The ship sank within minutes. Four members of the crew lashed themselves to the rigging while the remainder rowed to Fremantle for help.
Portions of the ship's hull, her anchors and various other artefacts can still be seen by divers, lying in 15 metres of water.
