The West Hartlepool-registered trawler Doris Burton left Aberdeen on November 20th, 1914 and was later reported missing - believed to have struck a mine and lost with all 9 crew. Four of the men were from the Hartlepools:

The other five men lost were: Cole, Jacob Grimes; Harwood, Thomas Leslie; Jowsey, Robert; Mansfield, John; Reynolds, William.
