Fate
The steam tanker Tatarrax was torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine UC-34 off Alexandria, on August 14th, 1918. The ship was on a voyage from Port Said to France with a cargo of spirit.
Sixty one crewmen were lost, including Hartlepool-born Chief Engineer William Hall.
