The Grimsby-registered steam trawler Ventnor (GY 293), was reported missing on July 24th, 1915 and not heard from again.
All 9 crew were lost including Hartlepool-born Deck Hand George Robert Nash.
The other crewmen who lost their lives were: Darwood, Ernest William; Duffield, Arthur John; Evans, Joseph Albert; Hartley, Herbert; Labon, Harry; Millins, Henry; Mynott, Robert; Sanderson, Leonard.
