With the dissolution of the Hartlepool & Durham Shipping Co an auction was held on 15 April 1851 at the Wheat Sheaf Inn at Hartlepool to sell all 12 of their vessels including the Percival Forster.
Voyages: 2 September 1841 arrived at Gravesend from Pillau; 1842-45 Stockton-on-Tees for London; January 1845 in collision off Yarmouth with the Ann of Blyth; 21 April 1862 arrived London.
Percival Forster foundered off the Dudgeon Light on 23 October 1862. The Jane of Newcastle took off the crew & landed them at Gravesend.
