Church Square School closed in 1938 and became the premises used as Hartlepool Art College. In 1966 the building was completely destroyed by fire and rebuilt as a custom made art college. It has since been added to, parts rebuilt and extended and is now the CAAD (Cleveland Art and Design) College.

This school opened in 1857 and closed in 1938. Children were transferred to Exchange School and the building became the Art College.It was destroyed by fire in 1966.
