St Mary's R.C. ChurchThe first Roman Catholic chapel on the Headland opened in Prissick Street in 1834 and St. Mary's Church was opened in 1851.

The Cosmopolitan HotelThe present Cosmopolitan Hotel was rebuilt from an older hotel on the site in 1885 taking in two cottages. In the 1870s, it was also used as stores for the Brunswick Brewery.
