Young Street, Hartlepool
Un-named shop on the corner of Young Street and Derwent Street. Adverts show six brands of cigarettes and drawn on the window it says ' Jacobs crackers 10d, Nescafe 2 shillings and 2 pence and strangely hair laquer refills 9 pence'. It would be the era of the beehive and backcombed hair which required a lot of this !

More detail »On either corner of Dent Street in Young Street, there were branches of the Co-op clothing department. As on the sign, this was a Gents' Outfitters. The branch closed around the late 1960s.
